Re-opening of King's Perinatal Post Mortem Service (Jan 2008)

The Perinatal Post Mortem service will resume normal operations from January 2008. As we are closed for the Bank Holiday, our first working day will be 2nd January. Prior notification of cases is to be made to the Perinatal team.

Our contact details remain unchanged:

King’s College Hospital:

Switchboard 020 3299 9000

Histopathology Department:

Perinatal Pathology Secretary 020 3299 4972 (mornings only)

Main Histopathology Office 020 3299 3045

Mortuary 020 3299 3504

Our current turnaround time remains at 8 weeks. This will be reviewed once our second Consultant Perinatal Pathologist starts with us this month.

Please note that once our service re-opens, we will initially accept cases that are up to 10 days old. Cases over 10 days old will not be accepted unless express approval to receive them is given by Dr Elena Pollina. Once delays during the holiday period have been accommodated, cases up to a week old only will be accepted, unless Dr Pollina gives her approval.
