Prime Minister Tony Blair MP and Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt MP were given a tour of the new Blood Sciences Laboratory during a visit to King’s College Hospital to discuss how the Trust was preparing for the 18-week cut to patients' waiting times.
King’s Chief Executive Malcolm Lowe-Lauri said: “We were delighted to welcome the Prime Minister and the Health Secretary to our hospital.
“These developments are all part of our drive to improve patient experience and care, while at the same time managing the costs.
“As well as touring our new state of the art blood services laboratory, a panel of our nurses and doctors took the opportunity to discuss with them the challenges and opportunities that the 18- week target presents.”
