Clinical Immunology & Allergy At King's College Hospital
The Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergy at King's College Hospital provides a comprehensive clinical and laboratory service. The Clinical Primary Immunodeficiency and Allergy services receive referrals from South East Thames, Kent, Sussex and Dorset areas.
Clinical research in the Department is underpinned by close links with basic sciences and the schools of Life, Medical and Health Sciences of King's College London.
COMPREHENSIVE LABORATORY SERVICE
Our laboratory service is one of the longest established diagnostic immunology laboratories in London (since the early 1970s). We are housed in newly refurbished, first class diagnostic and research facilities and receive, on average, 50 000 tests per annum. The Department is fully accredited by Clinical Pathology Accreditation Ltd (CPA). Furthermore, the laboratory participates in all quality assurance schemes available for the tests we do within the UK NEQAS schemes.
We have strong links with the Liver Institute at King's College Hospital, where our laboratories have been closely involved in developing a number of diagnostic tests. We also have close links with the Diabetes Centre, both clinically and in terms of basic scientific research.
